Welcome to our House

We are a couple living in the Canberra region that have decided to build our own home. We thought we would pass on what we have learnt so that others can build on this knowledge :-)

If you are an existing owner-builder or are thinking about building your own home you may like to visit our 'Planning Documents' page and download some off the information that we have put together. It may not be perfect but it should help.

If you have any questions please feel free to contact us on Please type this email into your email client - it stops me getting Spam :)

Most Recent Pictures

The Construction Pictures section of this site contains a sample of photographs we have taken throughout the building process with commentary on our experiences. We have also added information that might be useful if you are an owner-builder.

The most recent pictures are below or see the full landscaping adventure and the completed interior pictures

Our biggest project - The Driveway!!
The driveway is finally underway. We have prepared most of the base and are now waiting for the concrete curb to go down. Once this is in, we will backfill the middle with the remainder of the base and then lay down the AC10 Hotmix.

The irrigation and fire system pipes underneath the driveway

What will hopefully be a nice garden one day!

Our favourite Tonka toy :)

We told you it was our favourite!

This is a shot from about halfway down the driveway. Overall it is about 220m long. The 'posts' along the side will be lights. Another of our favourite Tonka toys on the right ;)

The Back Garden Finished

Plants are in and finally starting to grow.

Still competing with the rabbits and kangaroos

Our latest adventure - Landscaping the front garden - Pictures are in reverse order : )

Path is now in and rendering completed. Sill have to paint and finish the stone columns.

Deck completed so on to the stone columns. Each stone is glued on piece by piece. Just the sort of project we love : )

Christmas Day 06 - Half way through the Deck.

The front entrance and columns before the deck went in and we boxed up the columns.
