Tips and Tricks

  • Check all the plumbing measurements. Once the slab is down, making corrections is VERY difficult and very costly. While this seems an obvious suggestion, if you are paying a plumber as we were, you tend to expect that they can measure better than you. Mmm, not necessarily. As you might imagine we now have employed a new plumber : )
  • We have had to use offset collars to align the toilets correctly as the concreter didn't align the set downs in the wet area correctly during the pour. All of the toilets were a little off centre. The collars are about $15 each and are available from a trade plumbing outlet. We managed to find an offset collar that was 65mm that allowed us to correct the most incorrectly offset toilet. Most of this was caused by slack measuring by the infamous carpenters.
